Ojie The Honeybee is an allegory about a young female honeybee who has learned from her family how to care for her community through the delivery of essential oils in their honey. An overworked hive is starving for a remedy, but the key ingredient is guarded by territorial hornets across a river dividing the city.
Much like navigating the outcomes of the United States’ destructive, longstanding prohibition of some plant medicines, young Ojie must outthink misguided foes to save her hive and eventually communities well beyond.

About G. Ryan Ansin
G. Ryan Ansin is an entrepreneur and impact investor who seeks efficient ways to align stakeholder interest – creating positivity throughout life, across businesses, not waiting for retirement to influence change. Amidst a global career in social entrepreneurship, Ojie the Honeybee is Ansin’s first formal use of a BFA in writing from Emerson College.
Ansin has participated in the growth of dozens of companies within the plant-based medicine sector. He co-founded a leading cannabis company early in legalization with two goals: To create jobs by leveraging dormant assets in mill-towns and to democratize earnings in the cannabis industry. Through this, Ansin has assisted myriad social-equity licensed companies launch to realize their own dreams. In witnessing sustained damage by policy makers and oversights by cannabis companies regarding supply chain management, Ansin built FareFixing during the pandemic: Working with companies to highlight the need for ethical practices down to raw ingredients in edibles and accessories. Finally, the Ojie book serves as a catalyst for communication on how unintended consequences disable progress toward healthier communities.
Ansin loves adventure, languages, and counter-rhythmic dancing with his babies. His appreciated, lovely wife has come to share value in analyzing menus and clothes for the origin of every thread, ingredient, platter, and utensil.
